I can't tell. Given that Kyouka seemed to mean something to her personally, she might have anyway, but if there wasn't so much of a threat of her being killed, it might not have been as forceful. It also makes me wonder if she ever talked to Akutagawa about Kyouka...

And yeah it's really frustrating how little there seems to be of Chuuya and Kouyou's relationship! The only concrete things I can think of are the cover of chapter 31, the short scene in 15 that is pretty much that cover scene, and the bit where Kouyou is talking to Chuuya in the manga about what to do about the whole Mori and Fukuzawa possibly dying thing. I wish there was more it would be really interesting!
